Blog feature: NCAC Vet Claire

Claire Garrett is one of two vet nurses at the National Cat Adoption Centre.

"My job is to work alongside the veterinary surgeon and the other nurse in the day to day care, treatment and welfare of all the cats here at the centre,' said Claire.

"A typical day would be an early start drawing up the pre-medication for the cats having surgery that day, getting the operating/dental room set up, then receiving the cats from the cattery and settling them in.

"I work with the vet and the other nurse during  surgery and see through the aftercare, which can include relaying any post operation instructions to the cattery for their continued care.

"It is a very interesting job and to see so many cats and kittens find a new home is the most rewarding part."
